Use the following as a guideline to completing a successful and admission’s application and campaign.
1. Write or phone directly to the college to request up-to-date applications. Start early, do not wait until the last minute.
2. Get organized. Use a separate file folder for each college application.
3. Be sure to read the application thoroughly and answer each question. Type or print each application, no longhand. Proofread each application, spelling and grammatical errors are unacceptable.
4. Be sure to include those extracurricular activities that are impressive to the college. They should demonstrate qualities of leadership, duration, and activities that reinforce your academic and career goals mentioned in your application.
5. Request your teacher recommendations early (3-week preference). Choose teachers that best know you.
6. Provide deadlines and proper forms, including a self-addressed stamped envelope.
7. Send each teach a thank-you note, and keep each informed of the results.
8. Be sure to arrange with your guidance department to include your high school transcript and distribute the applications to the colleges.
9. Request a copy of our WAIVER OF APPLICATION FEE LETTERS. (details refer to member handbook p51)
10. For Samples of Resume of Achievement, personal essay writing guidance, please refer to member handbook pp49-55 .
